Public figures and celebrities are quite risky to search on the internet. According to internet security organization McAfee’s spokesperson Jeff Green, cyber criminals are intelligent celebrity watchers and they operate by hooking on to popular celebrity stars to be downloaded as malicious software. In theory, search of popular public figure is harmless but in reality these searches can cause a lot of damage to your computer by some bad downloads.

This year it’s Jessica Biel who tops the list as the most dangerous search on the Internet. Jessica Biel has overtaken Brad Pitt who topped the chart last year and Paris Hilton who was first in the list in 2007. Brad Pitt ranked number 10 this year.

Jessica Biel has shot to international fame and recognition through a TV show 7th Heaven and also for her role in the film Easy Virtue. The chance of the fans to land on a bad website that is prone to phishing and viruses while searching about Jessica Biel is one in five. Mostly the viruses get downloaded into the computer through download of screensavers and ringtones. For example Jennifer Aniston’s screensavers that is widely searched on the internet contains malicious viruses.

Other celebrity search that leads to download of malicious software is Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan and Heidi Montag. In the eight position tied are Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie as most dangerous search in the web while in the sixth position are newly wed couple Giesele Bundchen and Tom Brad.

US President Barack Obama and the first Lady have featured in most of the celebrity list this year but they are not the dangerous ones to be searched. In this year result of McAfee’s analysis US President ranks as number 34 and Michelle Obama as number 39.
