ABC is set to get back the Who Wants to be a Millionaire show very soon. The show will return with eleven episodes and is expected to be broadcast on Sunday night on the network.

The music of the show, the contestants and all the action of the phenomenal show will catch the viewers soon. Regis Philbin will host the show after a long gap of ten years while Meredith Vieira was anchoring the syndicate version of the show. The first show of Millionaire was aired on ABC in 1999 as a summer replacement and the show became an instant hit with amazing viewer response.

The show became so popular that it gained a place in the channel’s fall-schedule. The show’s popularity took everyone by storm and in 1999-2000 ABC came up with three editions of Millionaire, which occupied the first, second and third place in the viewership ratings. It did not stop there as the show gained equal amount of popularity even in 2000-2001 season. Just like all good things come to an end the show went off air in 2002, as it was being telecasted four times a week and the audience could not digest that much of the show, which led to its closure.

But the show got a new twist with the Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire, which reminded the audience of their favorite and popular show. The film is based on this show and this made the ABC think about airing the show all over again one more time. Philbin and the producer of the show Michael Davis cannot hide their excitement with this venture. They have stated that the studio environment with contestants, celebrity guests and experts are making it all the more magical.

The prime time edition of the show is supposed to have undergone a few changes to suit the syndicate version. The time to give out the correct answers will be stipulated and the contestants have to depend on experts as their resources, which will include Candy Crowley and Wolf Blitzer from CNN and also King Ken Jennings. The ratings of the show is what matters now, as the reality shows are losing ground and only time can decide the fate of this show.
